Hello and happy Foodie Friday! A feature of my newsletter where I put the “Food” in Food For Thought. In this corner of the internet I share food I’ve made, ate, or a restaurant I tried recently that I want to share with you all too.
Remember, even in the midst of healing, it’s important to still find time for joy and fun. My Foodie Friday’s help me bring that to this newsletter too. So, let’s get into it.
Last week I went to Cafe Landwer, a new restaurant that opened in Boca Raton, Florida. I posted about it on my Instagram too. Their kosher-style kitchen was phenomenal! If you like mediterranean food, this place needs to be at the top of your list.
They first opened in 1919 as a coffee shop, but since then have expanded to Boston, Vegas, LA, and now Boca Raton.
Even though they’ve grown as a restaurant, they have kept to their coffee roots. Anything coffee on the menu, including espresso martinis, are made with their very own coffee brand. Which I can confirm, is delicious. I thought it tasted unique, sweeter, and stood out with Cafe Landwer’s signature coffee brand.
They offer breakfast, too, which I’m excited to go back and try. Here’s what else I ordered from the dinner and dessert menu.
I’m not usually a fan of leftover pizza, but I have to admit… this pizza reheated the next day was still very good!
Trust me when I say that this sauce is so good you’ll be dreaming about it the next day. And some food for thought… ask for fresh parmesan cheese to pour on top when they serve it to you!
The Mezza Platter serves 3 people.
The lentil soup is super flavorful, gluten free, and vegan.
Don’t skip out on dessert! They have their signature dessert, Rosalach. They roll pizza dough with different flavors like Nutella, Oreo, or chocolate and sprinkle with powdered sugar. *chef’s kiss*
